WHAT IS THE REFUND POLICY?

This is by far our most common extended auto warranty question. This is why we offer a “30-Day Free Look” that will allow you to receive coverage and review your policy for a full 30 days. During your “30-Day Free Look” period if you are not satisfied (for any reason), you can request a full refund of the initial down payment you made at the time of purchase.  This is a no hassle process, we want to serve our customers that are truly satisfied with our coverage plans.

DO I STILL NEED THIS IF I STILL HAVE A MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY?

This would ultimately depend on how much time is remaining on your manufacturer’s warranty, remember many car manufactures will offer a 3 year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper coverage plan when you purchase new but then there is an additional 2 year 34,000 mile power train policy which doesn’t cover many component such as the electrical system, the your braking system, A/C, and much more. If your vehicle has 1 – 2 years left of on your manufactures warranty policy now would be a great time to purchase a Protect My Car policy.  Protect My Car will cover many of the non covered components that your power train policy is lacking protection for.

CAN I CANCEL MY POLICY AT ANY TIME?

Protect My Car’s vehicle service contracts and our Ambassador policies can be transferred at anytime.  If you have paid for more coverage then what was utilized a prorated refund will be calculated and refunded depending on how much money has been paid into the policy and how many miles have been put on the vehicle from the date the contract was purchased and how many miles were driven under the term of the policy.   If you trade your vehicle in, or sell it privately the policy you purchased from Protect My Car is fully transferrable to the person that purchases your vehicle, this is a great selling point for anyone looking to purchase a used vehicle.

WHAT IS A VEHICLE SERVICE CONTRACT?

A Vehicle Service Contract was designed to provide consumers with protection from the high cost of unexpected repair bills.   Vehicle Service Contracts are more commonly known as an aftermarket auto warranty.  Vehicle Service Contracts (VSC’s) are designed to help consumers off set the high cost of your mechanical repair bills when your vehicle breaks down or won’t start.  Protect My Car includes 24/7 roadside assistance to every customer that purchases a protection plan, as well as a rental car reimbursement plan for all repairs that take more than 4 billable hours to complete allowing you to get back to work, or home to your kids.

WHEN DOES MY COVERAGE BEGIN?

Protect My Car offers our “30 Day Free Look Period” which provides all our customers a full 30 days to review the term and conditions of the coverage plan that was purchased and if there is anything that you are not satisfied with you are able to call and get a full refund for the initial down payment that was made when you purchased your contract.  Now since Protect My Car offers the full 30 day free look period, the coverage begins 30 days from the date you purchased your VSC.  Now if you have an issue during the first 30 days from the date you purchased your contract and you need a tow, someone to change your flat tire, bring you a few gallons of gas you can utilize those benefits of the contract at any time.  You will not be able to file a repair claim during the first 30 days.   If you purchase one of our Ambassador Maintenance contracts, a repair can be filed with our Claims department after 15 days from the date you purchased your contract.

IF I SELL MY CAR, IS THE CONTRACT TRANSFERABLE?
Yes. Your vehicle service contract is both transferable and prorated refundable.
DOES MY VEHICLE NEED AN INSPECTION?
No.  As long as everything is running fine on the day that you purchase your vehicle service contract, you will not need a vehicle inspection.
HOW DO I FILE A CLAIM?
At Protect My Car you will find we have a “no hassle claims process”.  Simply call our Claims Department to begin your claim. Your friendly Claims Advisor will walk you through the process in a timely manner.
IS THERE A DEDUCTIBLE?
Sometimes.  This depends on your level of coverage.  We offer plans both with and without a deductible.  Give us a call and let us tailor a plan that meets your current needs.
DOES MY COVERAGE PAY FOR PARTS AND LABOR?
Absolutely. For all covered claims, we will take care of the parts and labor, as well as towing, roadside assistance, and rental car reimbursement.
